As we get to know them better, though, we are disappointed by them because we discover that they are not really who and what we initially thought they were. Their conversations 'sound' different from ours ... the company they keep is different from ours ... their habits differ from ours.
This might be because we were fooled by these peoples' outward appearances. This will never be the case with our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is written in I Sam 16:7(b): The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.
So, let us always strive to be pure of heart - as Jesus is!
May we all have a blessed week in which we really experience God's exceptional grace and mercy.

I have recently been blessed and encouraged by a wonderful Matthew West song, 'Don't Stop Praying'. This has happened - in God's impeccable timing - at a time when I really needed it. I would really like to extend the blessing and the encouragement to all my brothers and sisters. Thus are the lyrics:
What's your impossible? Your 'I need a miracle'?
What's got you barely hanging by a thread?
What looks so hopeless now? What weighs down your heart with doubt?

What's your impossible? Your 'I need a miracle'?
What's got you barely hanging by a thread?
What looks so hopeless now? What weighs down your heart with doubt?
You beg for a breakthrough, but no sign of breakthrough yet.
When you've cried, and you've cried 'till your tears run dry
The answer won't come and you don't know why
and you wonder if you can bow your head even one more time:
Don't stop praying
Don't stop calling on Jesus' name
Keep on pounding on Heaven's door
and let your knees wear out the floor
Don't stop believing
"Cause mountains move with just a little faith
and your Father's heard every single word you're saying
So - don't stop praying!
He's close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit
The Alpha and Omega knows how your story ends.

I am Susan Mans. I am a very healthy 61 year old lady, living in sunny South Africa. I am a confessing Christian; I believe in the triune God and I love our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, with all my heart and soul.
I was married for close to 36 years, but sadly my husband passed away nearly two years ago. I can really bear witness of God's grace and healing in a difficult time. He really lifted me up and carried me through!
From our marriage three wonderful children were born - one girl and two boys. They are married adults now and have given me the privilege to experience a status promotion - to that of Grandmom! I have four grandchildren (one girl and three boys) and I am blessed to see them regularly and really be a part of their lives, too.
I was a Primary School teacher for 36 years and enjoyed working with the youth of our country. I spent 32 years of my career teaching black children in township schools. I really could 'connect' with the children and learned a lot from them as well; my eyes were opened to look beyond the exterior and recognise the child's real needs.
I retired from education at the end of December 2023, and I am a happy, content retiree now. I really love the freedom to do whatever I want, whenever I want. I pursue a number of hobbies - from gardening and hiking to sewing and painting.
A very good friend of mine introduced me to the Knights Templars. I immediately was intrigued by the idea of a global organisation, a brotherhood, that honors our Lord and Saviour, serving Him by being His hands and feet here on earth, supporting one another in a brotherly and sisterly way. I am strongly drawn to do that too, to be part of that too.
This is who I am and why I want to be part of the Knights Templars.
