There is something deeply revealing about that moment in the wilderness when Satan tempted Christ. Jesus Christ was weak in body; He had fasted for 40 days and was hungry. He was alone, and that is when the enemy came. The adversary did not come with chains; he came with whispers. He did not come with weapons of iron; he came with words. Jesus did not fight him with human strength; He fought him with scripture. Over and over, the Son of God answered the devil with the Word of God. This must be the pattern for every believer, because the truth is, you are in a wilderness of your own at times - the wilderness of temptation, grief, memories, and strongholds trying to call your name again. The enemy will still whisper, 'Give in, compromise, God has abandoned you, you will never change.' But God's Word still stands.
2 Corinthians 10:4 says, 'For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.'
We are not called to fight spiritual battles with human methods. We cannot outthink, outwill, or outmuscle the enemy, but we can outstand him in truth, because the Word of God is our sword.
Ephesians 6:12 says, 'For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world.'
The real battle has always been spiritual. The heaviness we may feel at times, the sudden temptation, or the voice of condemnation - it is not just psychological; it is warfare my friends. Jesus showed us something powerful. He did not argue with the enemy; He did not debate him. All He had to do was declare the truth of God's Word. 'It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone.' 'It is written, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.' 'It is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and Him only shalt thou serve.' And when He did, Satan left. The enemy cannot stand where truth is spoken and believed. When temptation comes our way, we speak
2 Corinthians 5:17, 'It is written, I am a new creation.' When condemnation comes, we speak Romans 8:1, 'It is written, There is now no condemnation to them which are in Jesus Christ.' To face fear, it is written 2 Timothy 1:7, God has not given me the spirit of fear.' This is how strongholds fall - not by emotion, but by truth. Notice something beautiful: Jesus won the battle in private before He ever stepped into public ministry. Victory in the wilderness prepared Him for purpose, and the same is true for us. Every time we stand on God's Word instead of giving in, every time we resist temptation, and every time we declare truth through tears, we are defeating the enemy.
James 4:7 says, 'Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.' Not 'might flee,' but 'has to flee.' We are not powerless; we have been given the same weapon Jesus used - the living, breathing, eternal Word of God. And that Word will stand for eternity!

Sometimes it's not the number of people you help it's just the fact that you helped this week's homeless outreach I was only able to help nine people I was short-stacked on time and supplies when I first started doing this almost 11 years ago I used to beat myself up because I could only help x amount of people I only had peanut butter and jelly. This was me on a church Mission trip to New Mexico about 5 years ago we worked at La casa espranza a transition house for parents of children suffering from various terminal illnesses. It was most humbling
