I would like to take a minute to introduce myself as a new prospect for membership in the order. My name is Richard Brown and my wife and I have lived in Winter Haven, Florida for the past 35 years. We have two adult daughters and 5 grandchildren. I am currently retired after spending 30 years as a Lieutenant/Paramedic with the Tampa Fire Department. Prior to that, I was a Corpsman in the United States Navy.
I have the honor of being the Post Chaplain at the Frierson-Nichols American Legion Post 8 in Winter Haven, Florida where I help over 1,500 members and their family members deal with questions involving faith. I am not an ordained minister, just a brother veteran with an extremely strong standing in my faith with a willingness to share, along with a good set of ears.
By becoming a member of the Order, I seek to broaden my personal knowledge of Christianity and find new ways to spread the word of our God in Heaven. As it’s been written, I don’t think it’s enough to simply seek the knowledge of past Knights, I need to seek what they sought.

I had not heard of him until recently. He brought gifts to the king-our lord and savior: a ruby, a sapphire and a pearl but ended up using them to help others on his journey.
Father, thank You for the gift of this day. Help me not to waste the time You've given me. May my thoughts, words, and actions honor You, allowing me to love well and serve others.

Just an interesting observation today. Watching the movie “The Lionheart”, which focuses on the life of Indy car driver Dan Weldon. Early on in the movie, they show his grave and there’s an image of a knight atop a house and there’s a Templar cross on his chest, his shield and on the horse. I guess this his personal “logo” while racing.
I could spend quite a bit of time on that subject offline, being a student of the Viking Age, runes, and Templar history. Feel free to reach out on Signal!
