Here in Waponahkik, The Dawn Land, my kids call it "Coyote" moon due to the increased activity of the four-leggeds as they take advantage less foliage in the trees so they can see prey better during night hunts. Frequent high winds mask sounds of their movements and rains can serve the same purpose while also keeping their scent from travelling to the ever-alert noses of prey. During night forest walks, we can hear their haunting chorus of yips, yelps and howls as they hunt in hope of developing some extra fat layers to carry them through the winter. Most of the time, we simply call it "November".
The days become incrementally shorter as darkness seems to creep in until it seems to dominate. To the uninitiated and faithless, this is often a somber time of sloth and gluttony. But aho! To the seekers on the Holy Path, it is a time for action! It's the time to lean into their faith, to pray, to adore and worship with aims to be filled with the Holy Light and dispell the influence of darkness. Read and listen to The Word. Soak in the wisdom and guidance and pray for it to ingite a sun beyond all suns in your heart as you wait for the celebratory arrival day of The SON.
Read the words in The Holy Book, speak them through your lips and more importantly, etch them on your heart as you live them out to serve others around you as an extension of The Creator' works. Chop wood and shovel driveways for elders. Bring hot food and soup to those in need. Check in on your fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, cousins and friends. Forgive and release past wrongs done to you and be a living conduit for The Creator's Will. Worry not. For when you selflessly act as a torch to keep others warm, Lord Se'sus will guide you and conquer the darkness with His Light.

On the behalf of MC Paul I am happy to announce a new member to OMSDT and to the Priory of St Michael,CAA Zack Ostiguy from Maine. Please join me in welcoming him.
here is his bio:
Heartfelt greetings to all my sisters and brothers on the Holy Path.
It is an honor to be here. Please forgive me if this summarized biography comes off as a bit mechanical. I have an aversion to talking about myself in such a direct manner, as I tend to lean heavy on actions and deeds rather than words.

It is an honor to be here. Please forgive me if this summarized biography comes off as a bit mechanical. I have an aversion to talking about myself in such a direct manner, as I tend to lean heavy on actions and deeds rather than words.
To start off, I was born in Massachusetts. My lineage and culture is of Turtle Island (several Algonquian tribes and Acadians) and the old world (Basque, Breton and Norman). As a result of such mixing, my expression of religious faith and practice has elements from both Indigenous and European traditions. Where each begins and ends, I couldn't tell you. as they are quite culturally homogenized at this point. Most of the time, I can be found here in Wabanaki:k, The Dawn Land (you might know it as Maine) spending time with my family and pets.
In my family line there are many who held a potent blend of warrior spirit and holy values. A great uncle being a bit of a gangster in his youth going on to become a paratrooper chaplain in WWII then ultimately being a priest serves as just one example out of many interesting characters. As a result, balancing literal physical battle skills and "spirit walk" has always been the number one interest of mine so that I can serve (and protect) the people around me better. This has kept me journeying in the right direction...well MOST of the time...and has called me back and set me straight during the times I was a bit lost and wandered off the true path.
Whether it was during hard times growing up, to time spent overseas in US Air Force TACP or in my often chaotic follow up career, I was able to get past the darkness because of faith in The Creator's light pervading through all things.
I am here for real friendship/kinship I am fond of taking action to make my community a better place. So, please feel free to reach out so that we can colloborate on being extensions of God's holy works. Blessings to you all and thank you.
Humbly,
