Brethren, Like a lot of the Northeastern US my area is extremely dry. The experts tell us we have not had any rain in over 65 days and we are therefore in a severe drought. Because of this dryness early this morning a forest fire broke out on top of a local mountain and is still burning. The fire has spread into four counties and displaced thousands of people. The experts tell us we have not had any rain in over 65 days and we are therefore in a severe drought. Because of this dryness early this morning a forest fire broke out on top of a local mountain and is still burning. The fire has spread into four counties and displaced thousands of people. I haven’t heard anything regarding the injured or killed but God willing the counts will be low. A major roadway goes over this mountain and has snarled traffic. Tomorrow both presidential candidates are coming to a town near this fire. Let’s pray that not just they are safe (if their plans are not changed) but anyone near the area or coming into the area to see the candidates.
Psalm 16:1 reminds us, “Keep me safe, my God,
for in You I take refuge.” Further on in verse 121:5-8 the Psalmist states, “Lord, You watch over me—
You are the shade at my right hand;
the sun will not harm me by day,
nor the moon by night.
You will keep me from all harm—
You will watch over my life;
You will watch over my coming and going
both now and forevermore” This is the time to trust in the Lord.
