James always crams a lot of information into a small space. Let's pay attention to what this call to holiness is all about: getting closer to God. When we come into God's presence and get close to Him, we know that His holiness and righteousness will reveal our thoughts, motives, and actions for what they are. At the same time, we know that the holy life of our Father drives the devil away. Let's seek after God. Let's desire to get closer to Him. Let's ask Him to wash us clean and make us His, holy in every way.
Prayer: Righteous Father, thank you for your love and forgiveness. Now, dear Father, please help me as I try to get closer to you and learn more about you. Cleanse my heart of any lying or hidden sin. Cleanse my heart and give me the strength to show others your grace and holiness. In Jesus' precious name, I pray. Amen.
