Acts 2:41~ Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.
It would be wonderful if 3,000 more people joined God's church today. The early church got off to an amazing start when those who had heard Peter's message at Pentecost were baptized. Just as they had done for several days following Jesus' ascension, a small group of Jesus' followers had gathered earlier that day for prayer. The amount has increased to almost 3,000 as darkness descends over Jerusalem! Acts 2 is a key scripture that demonstrates the message of salvation, what open hearts will do in response, and how the Holy Spirit employs this straightforward message to lead searching hearts to salvation and fellowship. Do you mind reading Acts 2 today? Note what Peter has to say about Jesus. Take note of what Peter instructs them to do in order to be saved. The Gospel is still quite straightforward, so let's not only study it but also spread the word while asking God to bring renewal to our generation and to our impoverished nation.
Prayer: Please send your Holy Spirit upon us so that we may experience genuine revival in our churches today and bring salvation to countless numbers of the unsaved. I pray this, in Jesus' name. Amen.
