Micah was known as a prophet who condemned injustice and idolatry in Israel and Judah, famously summarizing God's requirements as "to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God" (Micah 6:8). He prophesied doom for corrupt leaders and cities but also offered hope, foretelling the Messiah's birth in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) and a future of universal peace where nations would beat swords into plowshares (Micah 4:3).
