The Strength of Silence

On top of a white stone hill, where the wind blows with an ancient voice between the cedars, stood the fortress of Safed, stronghold of the Temple Order in Galilee. Built to withstand storms and armies, its walls were wide as paths and its towers watched the horizon with stone eyes.
