This prayer of St Francis of Assisi should be engraved on our hearts. We may be called to do spiritual battles to defend our brothers and sisters in Christ but our goal should be to be a calming influence and an instrument of healing: A refuge for the weary and wounded.
Prayer
Father, ,give us the gifts of humility, of love, and understanding so that we may serve and represent You and Your Son, Jesus Christ. Grant us humility so that our ego does not interfere with our understanding what you want to do when we are needed to be present for our brothers and sisters who have been wounded. Let us provide for their bodies and be your healing balm for their souls.
In the Name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Amen
