"Give us this day our daily bread." - Matt 6:11
Notice it reads: "this day"? That means we are in the present. It's not a bedtime prayer: "Give us tomorrow our daily bread." Why? Because we don't know what we will need tomorrow. God does, but not us. The needs God meets today may solve tomorrow's problems before we know about them. God doesn't want us stressing about problems that may not be there tomorrow. Is that not great?
