You may have noticed that my activity on Belief Book has been abnormal. Transparency is essential for any organization to thrive and is the foundation for all trust. I have been assuming a critical role, which has pulled me from everyday life.
I have been placed as the Acting Chief of Chaplain Services for the entire New York State Metropolitan Police Department in the absence of my Chief. The Agency made this decision since I am presently the Senior Chaplain and my skillsets. Fortunately, I have a great team of seasoned Chaplains under me, making the work manageable but still taxing. I will be responsible for coordinating the entire department’s Chaplains Unit assignments and overseeing all operations.
I have included a copy of the interagency memo to give you an idea of the size of the MTA Chaplains Unit, which services approximately 80,000 employees throughout various divisions. Each Division has its assigned Acting Chief.
My activity on Belief Book may be low in the coming weeks, but I am always a phone call away. We will continue Bible Studies and support you through life’s many challenges.
