Le Chant des Templiers (the song of the Templars) is a solemn intonation of the Salve Regina prayer. This hymn, so beloved by many saints, found strong devotees in the ranks of the Crusaders. Le Chant des Templiers is sometimes known as the Solemn Salve or Sublime Ancienne (Sublime and Ancient). It is purported to have originated from a text discovered in the Basilica of the Holy Sepulcher attributed to the 12th century when the Templar Knights had direct influence over that Basilica.
